Burkholder Covered Bridge: Southern Somerset County

Today we take a look at Burkholder Covered Bridge. Instead of natural daylight, I opted for some ambient high beam lights on the high beams of the covered bridge. The bridge is on the National Register of Historic Places and looks similar to many of the covered bridges within Somerset and Bedford Counties. 

Burkholder Covered Bridge - Built in 1870 and originally Burr Truss - rebuilt with steel support beams in 1990- Measures in at roughly 50 feet long and 10.5 feet Wide

While I would not necessarily go out of my way to see this covered bridge, nearby attractions, such as the CSX's Sand Patch Grade of the old B&O Railroad, and the beautiful Packsaddle Covered Bridge, located roughly half an hour east of here. The drive through the area makes this well worth driving out of your way to see.
