Gage Mansion Bed and Breakfast, Huntingdon, PA

We start off our journey through the Raystown Lake Region with a stay at the warm and welcoming Gage Mansion Bed and Breakfast. Located in downtown Huntingdon, PA, the Gage is a well-appointed inn that is located in close proximity to all points of interest in the city. The Amtrak station is located within blocks of this B&B, making it an easy destination to reach from the Pennsylvanian train, whether you are coming from points west to Pittsburgh, or points east to Philadelphia and New York City. It is also located a short distance from the historic Route 22 William Penn Highway and all destinations within the Raystown Lake Region and Huntingdon County. This is one of the finest inns that we've ever stayed in. Victorian charm, coupled with excellent restoration, maintenance, and decoration, make this place distinct with its rich history while including all the modern amenities for either a weekend getaway or a weeklong vacation to unwind from daily life. Innkeeper Amy's hospitality and delicious, hearty cooking made our stay relaxing and immensely enjoyable.
The Gage Mansion was built by Colonel Gage in 1896 as a place to settle in his old age. He was superintendent of the Broad Top and Huntingdon Railroad. He had been brought in to turn around the railroad as it was failing. He succeeded in turning around the venture and he built this mansion, which would stay in his family for a few generations.
Our beautifully decorated room.
There are six fireplaces located throughout the mansion.
Elegant woodwork and lighting fixtures adorn the mansion.
The living room area, with the dining area seen in the background. There are multiple common areas where groups can gather and hang out, which makes this inn a great place to organize events, such as weddings, parties, and more.
The dining area.
There is a beautiful courtyard in the backyard area, and there is a gazebo set up in an adjacent yard area.
Stained glass is located throughout the mansion.
Spinach eggs benedict, with savory herb-roasted potatoes, and peach coffee cake, deliciously made by Amy the innkeeper. On our second day, we had some delicious lemon-blueberry pancakes, fresh fruit, and more, for breakfast.
Waiting for us in our room after our adventures were some freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies.
Overall, we highly recommend the Gage Mansion. The hospitality at the inn, the beauty of the building, and the cozy and spacious rooms make this a place that you need to visit and appreciate firsthand. The Gage Mansion is also in close proximity to all of the great attractions in the Raystown Lake Region, including the Raystown Lake Recreation Area, Swigart Museum, Lincoln Caverns, and so much more.
