One of our favorite places to eat downtown is the Original Oyster House. It home home to some excellent and affordable food and is often a favorite of ours to visit if we are headed to a baseball or football game on the North Shore. We park over in downtown, grab a bite to eat at the Oyster House, and walk across the bridge to the stadiums. The Original Oyster House has stood in Pittsburgh's Market Square since 1870 and is the city's oldest bar and restaurant and has received this recognition from the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation.
Known for their fried oysters, shrimp, crab cakes, and superb fish sandwiches, we always make a point of checking out this Pittsburgh mainstay. The Original Oyster House is a place that you need to check out if you are looking for an affordable meal, decent seafood, and a place to relax.
