Marked as a geologic wonder, and deservingly so, Big Rock on the border of Salisbury and Upper Saucon Townships in Lehigh County, is quite impressive. Sadly though, the touch of miscreants has terribly damaged this rock outcropping. These boulders, standing roughly thirty to forty feet over the top of South Mountain, are quite impressive. Sadly though, every inch of these rocks is covered in disgusting and lewd graffiti.

Lehigh County opened up a park for people to appreciate the big rocks and the vista that looks out over Upper Saucon Township. |

There is a short hike through an area of nice and mature woods. It is roughly a half mile long, just enough to give you a nice stretch. |

The start of the boulders. Vandals have seemingly covered every surface of these rocks with graffiti. |

Looking out towards the top of the rock formation, a good 25 feet above this point. |

It is a shame that this location has been continually vandalized in this manner. |

South Mountain has served as a communications hub for radio, television, telephone, and satellite since the infancy of telecommunications since it is the highest point within close reach of Allentown, Bethlehem, the suburbs, and Easton and a good part of rest of Eastern PA. On a clear day you can see the radio towers from almost anywhere in the area. |
Regardless of the graffiti, this is still a pretty cool spot to visit. The mature forests are especially beautiful.
What a shame that vandals ruin it for others.
