On our way out of Gettysburg, we took our time driving through the gorgeous countryside. The Sachs Covered Bridge is a stunning structure. We have more information about it on an earlier post, available here. This 100 foot structure is a true beauty and it played a critical role throughout the battle, including a way out for the Confederate armies when they finally ran off in defeat. This is a stunning covered bridge. Since the day we went was the start of trout season, there were people fishing these trout stocked waters. It is such a relaxing place.
The rest of our journey through Adams County went through seemingly endless groves of fruit trees that were in full spring bloom.
